Polar
Few places are as brutal, cold and unforgiving as the Earth’s polar regions. Temperatures regularly hit 50 below, wind speeds exceed 160 kilometers per hour, and white-outs leave visitors stumbling blind. Despite the treacherous conditions, explorers head out to conquer the polar regions year after year, and scientists use these trips to collect vital data for climate change research. We've fueled over ten expeditions to the poles, fed film crews documenting this fascinating landscape, and supplemented the diets of seasoned professionals stationed on Antarctica all year round.
